At Padma Resort Legian, you’ll meet many friendly faces, but some stories go a little deeper. One of them belongs to I Made Adi Dwi Cahyana Putra, better known as De Adi.Art has been part of De Adi’s life since childhood. Growing up in the Kuta area near the resort, he often spent time alongside his father, helping with creative projects, especially making Ogoh-ogoh, a traditional Balinese art form full of character, culture, and meaning. What started as a fun pastime soon became something he truly loved.Today, that passion has taken him far. De Adi is trusted by Sekaa Teruna Teruni (Youth Association) Yowana Giri, Banjar Tegal Kuta, as an Ogoh-ogoh architect, and he has also been involved in judging various art events around Bali, from mini Ogoh-ogoh and sketches to Tapel Ogoh-ogoh.De Adi joined Padma Resort Legian as a bellboy in 2023, where he’s known for his warm smile and eye for detail. But beyond his day-to-day role, his creativity sometimes shows up in unexpected ways. As part of Padma Resort Legian’s commitment to supporting local talent, his artistic touch has found a home within the resort.You may notice his work in subtle details around the property, especially the hand-painted mirror art in selected VIP guest rooms. After introducing the next generation of Padma Legends from our other destinations, we now turn to Padma Hotel Semarang. In 2023, he showcased his talent by competing in the prestigious H Gin Mixology Competition, demonstrating his passion for the craft.Lingga in H Gin Mixology CompetitionBeyond bartending, Lingga has a deep love for music. What started as a hobby has evolved into DJ-ing at intimate events for friends. For Lingga, music is a way to express himself and connect with others on a deeper level - much like bartending, where he builds meaningful relationships with guests. "Padma Legends" is a term we have introduced for Padma Family members who have been with us for many years. Some have been part of our journey since the opening of Padma Hotels' oldest property, over 30 years ago. Having been with us for so long, they are more than just team members; they are true legends. Many guests have formed lasting connections with them and return year after year, eager to reunite with their found family.As we celebrate these cherished Padma Legends, we are also excited to welcome the rising stars and the next generation, who carry forward the same legacy, values, dedication, and warm Indonesian hospitality that has made Padma Hotels feel like home for so many. One such star, who has been receiving countless positive mentions both during guests' stays and in online reviews, is the smiley Elta from Padma Resort Ubud. Let’s get to know this bright and passionate soul who has won the hearts of so many of our guests.Always happy to welcome you at Padma Resort UbudElta began her hospitality journey during university, where she majored in Food and Beverage, driven by her aspiration to work in a 5-star hotel. During her studies, she participated in a campus debating championship, won first place, and was rewarded with her first international travel experience to Thailand. After graduating, we were fortunate to be chosen as the place where she would launch her career. In 2017, Elta joined Padma Resort Ubud as a Waitress at the Pool Café and Bar for a year. Thanks to her hard work and dedication, she was promoted in her second year to Guest Relations Officer at The Puhu Restaurant.Elta on her graduation day"In 2021, I had the opportunity to transition to the Front Office department as a Hotel Guest Relations Officer. I met most of the guests every day, from breakfast in the lobby to check-in and check-out, and strolled around the resort to explain the hotel facilities," Elta explains. Her main responsibility was to ensure guest satisfaction and create memorable experiences for everyone. Most recently, in 2023, Elta was promoted to Suite Butler at the Club Lounge. "Over the course of my seven years at Padma Resort Ubud, I have thoroughly enjoyed my work, as I continuously learn something new every year," she adds.Explore the neighbouring island on her day offElta’s decision to pursue a career in hospitality was influenced by her family background. Many of her relatives worked with foreigners, and English was often spoken in their daily conversations. With an extroverted personality and a natural affinity for connecting with others, Elta thrives in environments where she can meet new people and build lasting relationships. “Engaging in conversations with new individuals helps me gain valuable perspectives on life. Moreover, delivering excellent service during guests’ stays at Padma Resort Ubud gives me a deep sense of satisfaction, especially when I see their happiness,” Elta says.Her genuine passion for people and her commitment to providing exceptional service have made her an integral part of the Padma Family. Elevating its dining experience, Padma Resort Ubud is thrilled to introduce its new Executive Chef, Damian Pentelow, whose unique culinary vision and journey bring fresh inspiration to the award winning resort’s dining scene. Rooted in the traditions of his South African childhood, Chef Damian’s passion for cooking grew from the warmth of his  grandmothers' kitchens and the art of “Braai”. Derived from the Afrikaans word that means grill or roast, Braai refers to grilling food in open flames, it is also a social setting, which brings people together to enjoy food, drinks, and good company around the fire. This early foundation in bold, fire-infused flavours has become the heart of his culinary style. It beautifully resonates with Indonesia’s traditions, which highlight the joy of togetherness through food, such as makan tengah (shared meals) and arisan (social gatherings). He later took on a Head Chef role at a popular tapas bar in South Africa, which eventually led him to eight adventurous years with Club Med across Southeast Asia. In 2018, he was promoted to Executive Chef, becoming the youngest to hold this position in Club Med’s APAC region, showcasing his dedication and talent.At Padma Resort Ubud, Chef Damian is set to bring his philosophy of honouring simplicity and origin through vibrant, globally inspired flavours. He envisions an elevated yet relaxed dining experience that reflects the organic harmony of Ubud’s lush landscapes. “Learning is continuous,” Damian shares. “I gain insights from books and, importantly, from my team.
